1/20/2021 25th Anniversary NAN postponed until 2022

25th Anniversary NAN postponed until 2022

The NAMHSA Board of Directors has come to the very difficult, but very important decision to cancel NAN 2021 as well as postponing the 25th Anniversary of NAN celebration.

This may come to no surprise to many of you as Breyer has once again, announced the decision to hold Breyerfest virtually for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Between this very important news and other issues surrounding NAN 2021, COVID-19, various stay-at-home orders, and school/event closures the Board felt that canceling NAN 2021 was the wisest decision that could be made.

The 25th Anniversary of NAN celebration will instead be held on the TuesdayWednesday and Thursday before Breyerfest 2022. All other details - location, actual dates, etc - are all to be announced at a later date as they are finalized. We are still working and continuing on our preparations for the annual meeting, elections and more.

While we can't see each other now, we hope to "see" you at Breyer's "Virtual Breyerfest" and next year at NAN 2022.

Stay at home, stay safe, be healthy.

12/28/2020 NAMHSA Pandemic Pause Qualification Extension

NAMHSA To Pause Qualification of Shows, for the Duration of the Pandemic- Extension

NAMHSA To Pause Qualification of Shows, for the Duration of the Pandemic- Extension.
On 9 December 2020, the NAMHSA BOD voted (10- Yes, 0-No, 1-No Vote) to extend the pause qualifier shows in light of the global pandemic.

1. All shows with currently approved qualifications must postpone their show to maintain their qualification. Shows that do not move, even if already qualified, will lose their qualification status. A show holder who postpones their show--even if without a firm date--will not have their qualification revoked. "Date TBD" will be acceptable in the short term, provided the show will not be held during the moratorium period.
2. The BOD will re-evaluate this moratorium on or about 28 February 2021 and extend or not extend, based upon CDC and legal guidance.
3. This moratorium is in place across all NAMHSA regions. Although some regions have fewer COVID cases than others, CDC guidance continues to consider medium/large indoor, in person gatherings as high risk (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html).
4. Shows scheduled for later in 2021 are encouraged to apply for approval; however, all applications will be held by the Show Secretary until after the second moratorium period is over and the BOD has reassessed the situation.

5. Refund/Extension/Rescheduling options: Show Holders may cancel previously approved shows through February 2021 without penalties. Show-holders will need to return their cards (if issued) to receive refunds. Those who choose to reschedule, with same classlist, will receive cards or stickers for the new date, as applicable.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your regional representative or any member of the NAMHSA Board Of Directors.
