The NAMHSA Board of Directors is excited to announce that as of June 1st 2021, membership applications for approval of member shows are once again being accepted! NAMHSA will end the qualification pause at the end of May following a unanimous vote of 11 yes and 0 no. This means that show holders may begin submitting their shows for approval beginning on 1 June 2021.
Shows scheduled on or after 1 August 2021 will be approved, provided they meet a) existing NAMHSA guidelines and b) temporary pandemic-specific guidelines (as determined by NAMHSA's legal counsel after review of the NAMHSA Bylaws and Policies). Shows that have postponed their dates due to the previous pandemic pause will be eligible for earlier approval (please contact the Show Secretary for details; there must be sufficient time for cards to be printed and mailed).
NAMHSA understands the eagerness of many showers to return to model horse showing. We, too, miss sharing the joy of collecting with our hobby friends. The intention behind pause in qualifications has always been to protect the future of the organization from potential legal action. Show holders will be required to sign waivers absolving the organization of legal responsibility for the safety of their entrants and acknowledging that they, as show holders, are responsible for following CDC and local safety guidelines.
Waivers will be sent to all approved show holders as soon as they are available.
